Pioneer Dental Group is proud to be able to offer dental implants to patients who are missing one or more teeth. Even if you need to have your teeth extracted prior to the dental implants, we can help you.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are used to replace the roots in your jaw and provide you with a natural-looking smile. Implants are considered the best tooth replacement option because they preserve the health of your jawbone and prevent more bone loss. They also restore your ability to chew and speak, and they can prevent premature aging and facial sagging that comes with missing teeth.
An implant is made from a small titanium post that is carefully placed into your jawbone through a surgical procedure. After your jawbone heals, crowns, bridges, or dentures will be affixed to the implants for a beautiful, full smile.
Types of Dental Implants We Offer
If you are interested in dental implants, it helps to know what types are available to choose from. Of course, not every type of implant will be ideal for you, and before your procedure, Dr. Pioch will go over the recommended type for your mouth. Some of the implants we offer include:
- Single implants – used to replace individual teeth
- Multiple implants – used to replace many teeth
- Full-mouth implants – replace all your teeth in your lower or upper jaw
- All on 6 – use just 6 implants to support a full set of replacement teeth
- All on 4 – use just 4 implants to support a full set of replacement teeth
- Mini implants – good for those who don’t have enough bone to support full-size implants
- Implant-retained dentures and implant-supported dentures – use implants to secure dentures for maximum stability
- Immediate implants – placed directly after tooth extraction
What Are Immediate Implants?
If you have damaged teeth that need to be replaced with implants, immediate implants can be placed in the same appointment as your extractions. Once your tooth has been extracted, the implant will be placed into the socket right away. You do not have to wait for your mouth to heal first, saving you time and allowing you to get your restorations (crowns, bridge, or dentures) sooner than you may have thought possible.
Preparation Surgeries and Procedures
If you are unable to have a dental implant procedure performed right away due to an underlying condition, we will handle those conditions first and then perform the implants. For instance, if you need to have your teeth extracted, we will do that first for you. Dr. Pioch also performs bone grafting and sinus lifts in office to ensure you have an adequate amount of jawbone to have the implants placed.
Come in for a Consultation
Before any implant procedure, you will need to have a consultation with Dr. Pioch. Your consultation will allow Dr. Pioch to look over your teeth and mouth to ensure that implants are the right procedure for you, or to determine if there’s anything we need to do first to prepare you for implants. In addition, you will be able to ask questions and learn more about the entire procedure.
