Founded in 2010, Building Blocks 4 Kids is a non-profit organization that helps foster and underprivileged youth participate in extracurricular activities outside of the home and school. Utilizing a pool of volunteers, Building Blocks 4 Kids has helped Oregon youth in Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties participate and enjoy activities such as football, soccer, music lessons, dance, karate, tutoring, science camp, and outdoor school.
By supporting and providing extracurricular activities for area foster and underprivileged children, they are more likely to stay in school, increase their self-esteem, graduate from high school, attend college or a post-high school education program, and become involved members of their communities.

Additionally, in 2016, Building Blocks 4 Kids has created an Aging Out of Foster Care program, which focuses on those who are 18 years or older and have aged out of the foster care system. The Aging Out of Foster Care program assists these young adults transition into being fully contributing members of their community by providing job training, educational support, rental assistance, and household goods. This allows former foster youth to become independent, thriving members of our community.
